Obituary

Alyce Goldish Horwitz, 97 years, of Duluth passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at her home, The Pines.

She was born in 1916 to Samuel S. and Bessie Goldish. Alyce was a lifelong Duluth resident and was co-owner of Famous Clothing with her husband, Julius. Alyce and Julius enjoyed 57 years together. She was active in Hadasa, Women's Axillary, Aad Temple and was a member of Temple Israel.

Alyce is preceded in death by her husband, Julius in 2001; son, Arnold in 1985; son-in-law, Harlan Miller; brothers-in-law, Alex Astren and Nathan Horwitz; and brother and sister-in-law, Ethel and Bert Garon.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Miller of Minnetonka; granddaughters, Shanna Miller of Minnetonka and Susan (Phillip) Goucher of Hoffman Estates, IL; sisters, Lorraine Astren and Marian Kiener both of St. Louis Park; sister-in-law, Ruth Horwitz of Denver; she is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family wishes to thank caregivers Tammy, Trista, Michelle, and Regina for their loving care over the years.

In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Temple Israel or Zuhrah Shrine Hospital for Children's wheelchair fund, 5400 NE Main St., Suite # 100, Fridley, MN.

Funeral service at Temple Israel, 1602 E 2nd St., at 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013. Interment at Tifereth Israel.
